May is here and summer is getting closer, day by day. There is still tons of snow outside and it looks and feels a lot more like winter than summer. Even so, the nights are getting longer and brighter and I have been getting some summer vibes. And accordingly, I have started marking the calender and booking all the adventures that needs to be booked.

This summer is going to be a staycation for us, hiking the mountains of Swedish Lapland and camping in Norway. There will be both hiking and running and also some roadtrips. For me, this summer is everything I want it to be. I have my own business that I can take with me, living like a digital nomad. And Erik is still so young that he doesn’t have school thar he needs to attend. I am planning on using this summer to take advantage of all those things and be out and on the road for longer periods of time.
Living my own adventure. Day by day. That’s the plan. Here’s a few of the things already on our vacation plan!
- Running from Vakkotavare to Nikkaluokta. A total distance of 72 km in 4 or 5 days. Me and my cousin have booked one night at Kebnekaise mountain station. The other nights we will be staying at Mountain huts. We’re planning on bringing a 15 litre backpack each and nothing more. Freedom! We’re starting on July 11th and planning on being back July 15th.

- Camping trip to Lofoten Norway at the end of July. I have family in the Tromso region so we will probably be passing there and then heading down to Lofoten for hiking and camping. And then from there to our cabin in Efjord.
- Visit Saltoluokta mountain station – once or twice this summer! A beautiful place with great hiking and amazing views.

- Driving south to visit friends that are spread out in different parts of Sweden. Östersund, Åre, Umeå and maybe Sundsvall. Going where the road takes us and exploring local spots as we pass by. I look forward to hiking new places!
That’s the outlines of our summer and I hope we will be able to get out on some more adventure in between. Right now I’m planning and preparing all of the equipment I need, especially for the running. That’s gonna require good shoes, a good backpack and amazing skills on how to take care of wounded feet.. if you have good tips on equipment for trail running please share!!

I have also ordered a new lens to my camera that i hope will complete my camera gear. Looking forward to sharing my adventures with you here and on instagram!
Let the summer begin!
